Hi Michelle, Book Clubs is closed until August 2nd. When our lines open again, you will be able to shop away at clubs.scholastic.com. If you are a teacher, sign-in and get started at that time. If you are a parent, you will need to ask your child’s teacher to register your class. We’ll provide more detailed instructions closer to that date. Thanks for your enthusiasm!

Is there a way we can order as “teachers” if we are future teachers that have not yet graduated?

    • Jen A. July 22, 2010 at 4:44 pm #

      Heidi,

We have school based distribution rights, which means that all books must be ordered through the classroom. You can order through your Professor of Education or other teachers (as others have suggested). You can also sign-up in our Teacher-To-Be Program, which keeps you updated about our FIRST CLASS program, a program for new teachers. Sign-up now to for the Teacher-To-Be Program, let us know where you’ll be teaching when you hear the good news, and you’ll be well on your way to earning FREE books and resources for your classroom. Just click here to get started.

I am not a teacher but I will be doing volunteer reading at a local hospital. Will I be able to buy books from your site or do you have to be a teacher? I think Scholastic Books are great and remember ordering them as a kid. This would be a great site to order books and give them to the kids that don’t have books at home.

    Thank you.

I have recently retired and have bonus points that I may use as a grandparent. How do I place an order and use these points? I still have my account.

    • Jen A. July 26, 2010 at 11:20 am #

Mary, we have school based distribution rights, which means that our books must be ordered through a classroom. We suggest working with a fellow teacher to help get these kids some fantastic reads at our low prices. Thank you for your post, and for the work that you do to make sure these children have reading-time!

Diane, as you know, our bonus items are awarded for the exclusive and mutual educational benefit of all participating students, their teachers, classrooms, and school. You may choose bonus items to leave with your classroom or may gift your points to teachers within your school. If you have any special requests, please let Linda (email address below) know and we will consider them.

We thank you for your years of support of our Book Clubs and wish you well during your retirement. Please do not hesitate to contact Linda in Customer Relations if I can she can be of further assistance. You can reach her at lschenker@scholastic.com.

      Thanks!

      Hi Lisa,

We would love to welcome your home-school to the Scholastic Book Clubs Family, if it is eligible. Please call 1-800-Scholastic to speak to one of our representatives; we’re happy to help and thanks for posting!
