suggestions for my son would be great! I tried Captain Underpants, Percy Jackson…
He likes mad libs and diary of a wimpy kid…but mostly the diary of a wimpy kidthat you fill in…yet he hates to write…ugh…lol

    • Trevor October 20, 2010 at 3:07 pm #

      Hi Belinda!

Thanks for the comment. If he likes things like the Wimpy Kid journal perhaps he would like ADVENTURES IN CARTOONING which can be found in October’s Arrow catalog. Another personal favorite of man because I think they are hilarious are the BRIXTON BROS. series, also available in October’s Arrow. We have a great video about the series from the author and illustrator on the blog which you can watch here. Hope this helps and Happy Reading!

Thanks for the comment. These are all of the $1 titles for the November clubs. We do have $1 titles every month so be on the lookout for more $1 titles to come. Also, be sure to check back here at Book Talk for sneak previews, editorial reviews, give-aways, author interviews, and more!

I can’t wait to get A Season of Gifts! My class is reading A Long Way from Chicago right now, and they just love Grandma Dowdel!

  17. Janis October 21, 2010 at 10:12 am #

Thanks for responding with the purchase instructions… I actually host a book club during the summer for boys. Started last year with five year olds – group of six boys. I’m starting my hunt for books for next summer and the dollar deals make it less painful because I pay for the book club books for all the kids.

  18. Peter October 21, 2010 at 12:14 pm #

Junie B. is a funny series. Highly recommended for young readers. The Christmas one hear would be a nice pick for a great price.

  19. Jen October 24, 2010 at 8:14 pm #

I was wondering if the Shoemaker and the Elves book in Leo was written in both English and Spanish throughout the book?

    • Trevor October 25, 2010 at 10:13 am #

      Hi Jen,

Thanks for the comment. The book is bilingual so there is both English and Spanish throughout the book. Hope this helps!

      Happy Reading!
